Our History

From Window on the Orient to a Canberra institution.

The China Tea Club, located in North Lyneham, Canberra, was established in 1988 by partners who met while studying at the Australian National University. Following their first venture, Window on the Orient (1985), the China Tea Club became a foundational part of Canberra's evolving modern Chinese dining scene.

For over 35 years, the China Tea Club has welcomed locals and visitors alike, specialising in modern Chinese cuisine and offering unique, inspiring dishes.
